Erie Elementary School’s Weekly Newsletter

Dear Parents and Guardians,

What a wonderful first week of school! It is such a good feeling to have all of our Tigers back together from our preschoolers up to 5th grade. I just love being part of this community. I want to thank our PTCO for all of the work that they put in to making it a festive first few days, our staff for all of their hard work in getting ready to provide the best possible learning experience to our students and our families for their support and partnership. You are all appreciated! As always, please reach out to me with any questions, concerns or feedback. I am always happy to have a conversation about any topic that is on your mind. Have a great weekend!

Drop off and Pick up Procedures

Walkers and Bike Riders: Thank you for your help as we have revamped our crosswalk system. Some of you know that our beloved Brian Callard retired last May to move out of state to be with family. We are working on onboarding a new crossing guard. We will be utilizing two crosswalks. If you are walking on Cheeseman next to EMS, please walk on the opposite (of EES) side of County Line Rd. and cross at the marked crosswalk with the flashing yellow yield light in front of the school. If you are walking on Cheeseman next to the bank, you will be crossed by a crossing guard from that corner towards the Conoco and then again from the Conoco to the EES side of County Line Rd. This will be the same in the opposite directions after school. Thank you for your help.

Car drop off and Pick Up: Enter our parking lot or drop off lane at the third driveway from Cheeseman. The first driveway is for bus and handicap only. The second driveway is for bus and handicap exiting only. The third driveway allows you to park and walk to the door or proceed through the drop off and pick up lane. Please pull all the the way forward in the drop off and pick up lane and remain in your vehicle. This helps us to keep County Line Rd. clear for traffic. Students should exit or enter vehicles from the passenger side.

Conoco has asked us to remind parents that their parking lot is for customers only. Please do not park in the Conoco lot for drop off and/or pick up or your car may be towed. Thank you.

School Picture Day is coming!

School Picture day is September 8, 2026. Picture packets are going home in the students’ Friday folders. Attached is the prepay link for parents to place their photo orders.

ParentSquare: Our New District Communication Tool

St. Vrain Valley Schools will begin using ParentSquare, a new district communication tool that allows families to receive notifications based on their preferences. St. Vrain’s communications team will pilot ParentSquare for the remainder of the school year with the plan to expand access to schools at the start of the 2026-27 school year. We’re excited about the opportunities ParentSquare offers to streamline communication and will be working towards consolidating several of the tools families currently use into one convenient platform.

After spring break, parents and guardians will receive an email invitation to activate their ParentSquare account. This will allow families to download the mobile app, set language preferences, and choose how and when they receive notifications.

Visit the district website to learn more about ParentSquare.

Please remember we do not allow animals on school property during school hours. If you bring a pet with you when picking up or dropping off your child it must remain on the public sidewalk or in vehicle. Thank you for keeping our kids and each other safe and comfortable at school.

Volunteer Opportunities

If you would like to volunteer in at school there are so many ways to do so. You can reach our to your child’s teacher to see what they may need. Our wonderful PTCO also is a great way to find out about how to volunteer. If you are planning to volunteer, we need you to fill out this form and turn it in to the front office.

Questions/Concerns/Feedback?

We value our partnership with families. If you have any questions, concerns, feedback, or general wonderings please reach out to myself or Mrs. Neher directly. We love the opportunity to partner with our community, solve problems and build relationships!
