Erie Elementary School’s Weekly Newsletter

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Happy Friday, Tiger families!

I hope you are doing well and staying healthy. The PTCO sponsored Snowball Dance was so much fun! It was so great to “let loose” with the students and watch them just enjoy dancing with their family and friends. I have to admit, the snowball fight was definitely a highlight of my week. Thank you to our PTCO for another successful event to help build our school community!

We have one more week to go before Spring Break begins. As a reminder, there is no school Monday, March 16th – Friday March 20th. It is so hard to believe that we are well into March! Our classes are still going strong and, as you know, after Winter Break begins our Spring testing season. Again, at Erie Elementary, we are dedicated to being intentional with our assessment choices. Besides mandatory state and district testing (which help us to monitor that our educational programming is helping all students achieve and grow at Erie Elementary), we do have other assessments that we give by grade level. However, we are very careful not to “over test”. We give assessments for the purpose of designing our instruction and making sure we are meeting the needs of all of our students. We will be sharing our Spring testing schedule out soon. As always, please let us know if you have any questions.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Current Character Trait Focus

Responsibility: We are responsible when we own our choices and actions.

Over the next five weeks, students will have the opportunity to participate in our “Ripples of Responsibility” Challenge. The goal is for students to learn what responsibility truly looks like — and to notice how it grows outward. Be on the lookout for information from your child’s teacher about a responsibility BINGO board where your child can complete acts of responsibility in five areas: self, school, community, state, and global.

Project Launch Applications Now Open!

** Please note that the end date is June 25th, not July 25th as printed in last newsletter, sorry for any confusion.**
