As a Colorado native, I knew I always wanted to stay in this beautiful state.  I graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder with a degree in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology.  During my time at CU, I had the privilege of traveling around the world on Semester at Sea, an experience that continues to shape who I am to this day.  Several years after graduating, I decided to change my direction and pursue teaching. I went back to school and earned my masters degree in Elementary Education.  I was fortunate enough to be offered a teaching position in Erie upon graduation. I have thoroughly enjoyed the amazing students and families I have encountered over the last 16 years.

5th grade has been my teaching home, as I love the connections we are able to develop across all subject areas with the increased capabilities unique to upper elementary grades.  Our room is filled with movement, inquiries, and respect. As I seek to help every student achieve their personal best academically, I also hope to help them find their unique passions that will inspire them for years to come.  I am so fortunate to work in a career that allows me to learn, be challenged...and laugh... every day.

When I am not "Mrs. Travis", I enjoy spending time with my precious family.  My husband, two sons and I love hockey, biking, skiing, hiking, catching toads, climbing trees, and pretty much anything outdoors.  We also love to read, watch movies, invent things, and get creative indoors, as well. I love to travel and am always up for a new restaurant or a great TED talk.
