Erie Elementary School’s Weekly Newsletter

Dear Parents and Guardians,

It has been a wonderful week here at school. The kids have quickly settled back into our routines after having a week off. Our 3rd-5th grade students are gearing up for CMAS testing. Our upcoming state assessment (CMAS) is an opportunity for students to demonstrate what they’ve learned, and for our school to better understand how to support continued growth. It is important to remember that these assessments are just one snapshot of a child’s learning journey.

3rd through 5th graders will be taking CMAS in the mornings from April 7th through the 17th.  Our goal is for all students to be at school during the assessment window. Please try not to schedule appointments or vacations during this time. If you know your child will be missing one or more days of CMAS, please email your child’s teacher.

You can support your child by ensuring they get a good night’s sleep, eat a healthy breakfast, arrive on time, and feel reassured that they can take their time and do their best.

Don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns!

Reminder – Wednesday, April 1st is a late start day and our morning schedule is as follows:

Doors Open 11:15
First Bell 11:30
Tardy Bell 11:35

It is hard to believe, but we are starting to gear up for next school year! This is the time of year when we are preparing for creating class lists. If you would like to give us any information regarding your student for us to take into consideration, please fill out this form. This form is optional.

As always, thank you for your partnership and I hope you have a great weekend!

Safety

Please do not have students access the fields in the mornings right before or right after school. In the spring, we start to have before and after school programs running and we cannot have other students on the fields. In addition, our Tigger Time program will be using the field more often as the weather warms up and, due to licensing, they cannot have other students on the field at the same time. Thank you for your help with this!

ParentSquare: Our New District Communication Tool

St. Vrain Valley Schools will begin using ParentSquare, a new district communication tool that allows families to receive notifications based on their preferences. St. Vrain’s communications team will pilot ParentSquare for the remainder of the school year with the plan to expand access to schools at the start of the 2026-27 school year. We’re excited about the opportunities ParentSquare offers to streamline communication and will be working towards consolidating several of the tools families currently use into one convenient platform.

After spring break, parents and guardians will receive an email invitation to activate their ParentSquare account. This will allow families to download the mobile app, set language preferences, and choose how and when they receive notifications.

Visit the district website to learn more about ParentSquare.
