Erie Elementary School’s Weekly Newsletter

Dear Parents and Guardians,

What beautiful weather we have had this week! I hope you’ve been able to enjoy it. This week we hosted our very first Open House. There were approximately 25 families that came to find out what our amazing school is all about. It was exciting to share with them all of the wonderful things that make us unique as the Erie Elementary Tigers. Not only was it fun to share, but it also made me reflect on how lucky I am to be a part of this community. Thank you for all that you do!

Just a quick favor to ask; please don’t park bikes in the striped zones in between the handicap spots. Those are there to enable plenty of room for handicap drivers to be able to get in and out of their cars easily. Thank you so much for your help!

Important iPad Updates for the 2025–2026 School Year

St. Vrain’s District Technology Services has made several updates to student iPads for the upcoming school year to support a focused and secure digital learning environment both at school and at home. One key update is the implementation of a new internet filter, Securly, which adds an extra layer of protection to iPads by blocking certain types of websites.

For more information about these updates – and what they mean for your child’s device — please click here.

Please complete the Erie Elementary School Student Support Survey. One for each child, in grades K-5, by Friday, September 5. Link to support survey

Elementary school is about academic excellence.  It is also about learning social skills, like making and keeping friends, emotional regulation, self-control, perspective taking and executive functioning skills like time-management and organization.  At the elementary level, we are building self-efficacy and sometimes we need a little help.

Counseling support at Erie Elementary School includes whole-class counseling lessons, small group and brief, solution-focused counseling opportunities with the goal of keeping students in the classroom, learning and relating to others appropriately.

This survey will help us assess the needs of grade levels and individual students, so that we can be proactive in our support.  Thank you for your participation.  Please contact Alissa Chute, School Counselor, with questions.
