Dear Parents and Guardians,
We had another wonderful week this week at Erie Elementary. The weather has been beautiful so kids were able to get outside for some PE activities. I noticed the third graders practicing their kicking skills yesterday and having a lot of fun learning with Mrs. Apple.
Speaking of the beautiful weather, our PTCO has purchased some great picnic tables for our school! We will be placing them behind the portables in the back so teachers can use them as an outdoor learning space and students can get out for some lessons in a different setting with lots of fresh air. Thank you PTCO! Please make sure to read through the whole newsletter as it is packed with information this week.
As you know, next week is Halloween! Teachers will be putting activities specific to their classes in their own newsletters so watch for that. Students can wear their costumes to school on Friday. Please make sure there are no weapons, blood and gore, face coverings or any costume that would get in the way of learning that day. Than, you so much and reach out if you have any questions!
I hope you have a great weekend with family and friends.

News from the office
Please pay your child’s 2025-26 $10.00 supplies fee as soon as possible. You can pay this through your Infinite Campus Parent Portal. This fee helps subsidize Erie Elementary’s supplies budget for our kids this year. Thank you!
Lost and Found – Please remind your child to check our lost and found; it is overflowing again and we want to make sure you have all of your belongings so they don’t get donated!
Attendance – We so appreciate your responsibility and cooperation in checking your students out on our electronic form when picking then up early from school. We ask that you don’t check students out early before you are at the school. We use the information to keep track of who is in our building for safety reasons. If you check them out the day before or hours before, we do not have accurate information in our system. Please check them out when you arrive at school. Also, please allow at least 10 minutes for us to find your student when you check them out. They are busy and in different areas throughout the days so sometimes it takes a bit for us to track them down. Thank you so much for your help!

Please complete the Erie Elementary School Student Support Survey. One for each child, in grades K-5, by Friday, September 5. Link to support survey
Elementary school is about academic excellence. It is also about learning social skills, like making and keeping friends, emotional regulation, self-control, perspective taking and executive functioning skills like time-management and organization. At the elementary level, we are building self-efficacy and sometimes we need a little help.
Counseling support at Erie Elementary School includes whole-class counseling lessons, small group and brief, solution-focused counseling opportunities with the goal of keeping students in the classroom, learning and relating to others appropriately.
This survey will help us assess the needs of grade levels and individual students, so that we can be proactive in our support. Thank you for your participation. Please contact Alissa Chute, School Counselor, with questions.
