Dear Parents/Guardians,
I hope you have managed to stay warm this week! I have had a few questions about our inclement weather procedures, particularly in regards to recess. We feel strongly that students do better when they are able to get some fresh air and exercise. To that end, we try to go out to recess as much as possible. However, we know that there are times that we just cannot take them out. Here is an excerpt from our staff handbook:
Weather permitting, all children will go outside during recess. Office staff will monitor weather conditions including wind chill /temp using various accredited resources. If the temperature with wind chill is 14 or below, an indoor inclement schedule will be followed. Rain, sleet, rain/sleet/snow mix will result in change to indoor inclement schedule.
So, please make sure that you are dressing the kids warm on those cold days in case they go outside. Their safety and well being is always our number one priority when making any decisions.
Thank you for all that you do and I hope you enjoy this long weekend!

From Erie High School

The students of Erie High School’s Student Government have joined together to host a Wish Week to raise money for Make-A-Wish® Colorado and help create life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. We would like to invite you to join us and help grant wishes for kids like Edwin and his wish to go to Walt Disney World.
These wishes are unique, powerful and life-changing. Wishes have proven physical and emotional benefits that can give children with critical illnesses a higher chance of survival. When a wish is granted, a child replaces fear with confidence, sadness with joy, and anxiety with hope. A wish transforms the lives of children, their families, volunteers, supporters, medical professionals, and entire communities.
Help us to transform the lives of these deserving kids. There are lots of ways your school community can get involved! Our Wish Week will be held February 24-28th, 2025, and we invite you to participate in our events throughout the week. Below is a list of Wish Week events, including restaurant nights. Please share this information with your school community and encourage them to support the week by eating at the various restaurants!
