Dear Parents and Guardians,
I hope you have had a great week. I want to recognize Mrs. Stem and all of our teachers and volunteers for coordinating the STEM day on Wednesday that had to be cancelled. I know it was a lot of work and it was very disappointing to not be able to have it. I appreciate the work Mrs. Stem put into this as well as the time and effort of our volunteers and I am so sorry for everyone that it didn’t work out.
We are drawing close to the end of the year, but rest assured we are still working hard here at Erie Elementary! Your students are showing some amazing growth on their iReady assessments thank you to their hard work, your support and our wonderful and hard working staff. Please be sure to read your teacher’s newsletters for any end of year activities. Also, our lost and found is piling up again. PLEASE have your child check to see if they are missing anything. STEM
Field Day
Mrs. Apple is coordinating our Field Day. Here is the schedule:
Our Field Day will be on Monday May 18th with a make-up day on Tuesday May 19th.
Kindergarten and 1st grade will be in the morning from 9:15-10:30
2nd, 3rd and 4th grades will be in the afternoon from 1:30-3:00.
5th graders will be outside for both sessions running the stations.

Preschool Registration
Registration for St. Vrain Valley Schools’ 2026-27 preschool programs begin Dec. 9, 2025. Families can choose from high-quality, five-day programs, including half-day and select full-day options at schools across St. Vrain. The Colorado Universal Preschool (UPK) application is included in St. Vrain’s form, and families are encouraged to apply early for the best chance of placement at their preferred school.

Safety
Please do not have students access the fields in the mornings right before or right after school. In the spring, we start to have before and after school programs running and we cannot have other students on the fields. In addition, our Tigger Time program will be using the field more often as the weather warms up and, due to licensing, they cannot have other students on the field at the same time. Thank you for your help with this!

ParentSquare: Our New District Communication Tool
St. Vrain Valley Schools will begin using ParentSquare, a new district communication tool that allows families to receive notifications based on their preferences. St. Vrain’s communications team will pilot ParentSquare for the remainder of the school year with the plan to expand access to schools at the start of the 2026-27 school year. We’re excited about the opportunities ParentSquare offers to streamline communication and will be working towards consolidating several of the tools families currently use into one convenient platform.
After spring break, parents and guardians will receive an email invitation to activate their ParentSquare account. This will allow families to download the mobile app, set language preferences, and choose how and when they receive notifications.

Please remember we do not allow animals on school property during school hours. If you bring a pet with you when picking up or dropping off your child it must remain on the public sidewalk or in vehicle. Thank you for keeping our kids and each other safe and comfortable at school.
Volunteer Opportunities
If you would like to volunteer in at school there are so many ways to do so. You can reach our to your child’s teacher to see what they may need. Our wonderful PTCO also is a great way to find out about how to volunteer. If you are planning to volunteer, we need you to fill out this form and turn it in to the front office.
